How to Treat Dry Skin

Let’s face it: winter isn’t the best time for your skin. Battling redness and scaly patches on your legs is one of those winter weather annoyances we can’t always avoid. But luckily, there are ways we can revitalize that healthy glow.

If you’re one of the many who suffers from dry skin around this time of year, you could benefit from a few of these simple remedies:

Aloe Vera. Aloe vera has many healing properties. For example, it contains acids that can fight off dead skin cells. So apply some gel to your skin for a quick home remedy.

Mild soap. Deodorant soaps may smell good, but they contain perfumes and irritants that can seriously dry out your skin. Instead, switch to a more mild soap and return to your perfume-based one when spring blooms again.

Lukewarm Water. Hot showers can cause dry skin. Not to mention, showering too often in itself can wash away your skin’s natural, protective oils. So make sure you shower sparingly, and when you do try to use lukewarm water.

Vitamins.
B-complex vitamin supplements contain thiamin, riboflavin, and pantothenic acid, which all help to support healthy skin. Other skin-healthy nutrients can be found in vitamins A, C, and E.

Chemical Peels. To best rejuvenate your skin, turn to the current technologies in skin care. Chemical peels are one of the safest treatments out there that help your skin to look and feel more radiant. To learn more about it, click here
